I have suggested that you make the southern trip to Margaret River, a vast area of vines and wineries about 3.5 hour drive from Perth.

There are two world class golf links along the way, Kennedy Bay and Secret Harbour, both well within an hours drive from Perth. I do believe that these are must play links courses, either from your base in Perth or along the way to Margaret River if you wish to visit the many wineries in the southern river region.

Fremantle is also a region 20 mins south of Perth that you should visit. Fremantle was the host of a past America's Cup and where you can take a ferry cruise to Rottnest Island. See the Perth Highlight page.

Margaret River is a town that seems like it is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of modern day stress. It is ideally located between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. As the focus of the entire area, the wine region is officially known as "The Margaret River Wine Region". Thousands of surfers visit the town year round to experience the marvellous surf breaks that litter the ocean around Margaret River.

To the north, visit the Nambung National Park where you will find the Pinnacles - limestone pillars in the desert landscape. Further north is Shark Bay, a world heritage-listed area of great significence. Here is Monkey Mia, well known for its friendly dolphins which come to the shallows every day.
